... At least until the appearance of the "Y" generation. (1)
“Y” seems to have reversed all the data, and make strides ... backwards!
At least, this is supported, by an independent American research.
The first, conducted officially, on behalf of the US Government, shows that teenage girls have had sex already at 44%, compared to 58% recorded 25 years ago.
The corresponding figure for the "Y generation boys" is 47%, well below the 69% of their parents.
And while the reduced sexual activity of adolescents, is not a matter of discussion, experts insist that shows, a trend likely to continue in adulthood.
Second study, this time by the San Diego University, highlights another interesting element.
That “Y” generation, had fewer sexual partners than their parents in the same age.
Dr. Jean Twenge, head of the scientific team, told the British newspaper “The Independent” that the phenomenon is probably due to the social changes, which the generation "Y" faces.
After the global economic crisis, they have less money, they work longer hours, their work is not guaranteed and they are living with roommates or parents.
"When you are a young adult living with parents, it is more difficult to have sex. Although the crisis is over, more and more adults are living with their parents. It is as if they are still teenagers, trying to find a way to have some time for themselves. "
Technology has Negative role as well...
"I suspect that this is connected, with the growth of digital communication, including the availability of pornography and digital sex.
There are documented cases of young men who report that their pornography has brought obstacles in sex with real women, " concluded the expert.
The generation born in the 1980s and 1990s, comprising primarily the children of the baby boomers and typically perceived as increasingly familiar with digital and electronic technology.
The Past has proved that:
younger generations, all tend to shock the previous ones,
in terms of sex and sexuality issues!
