We all tell lies, some lie more often or for more serious reasons. Whatever is the cause, there are several reasons, why someone may act dishonestly. Some people hide deep, dark secrets, others do not want to mess hearts, and others simply find it … “fascinating” to say something, that is not the truth and to take the risk if its revealed.
DirecTV asked 2,000 people, for white lies about sex, that have said in their lives and asked them to rate their severity on a scale from 1 to 5.
Interestingly, the four most common lies are primarily connected to the gender .
Lie 1.
I take contraceptives. This ranked at 4.52 out of 5 and is considered as the most serious lie that has been said, amazingly from exactly the same women who have said it! Obviously something like such a serious lie, should not be said, unless an unwanted pregnancy is not really something serious for those women.
Lie 2.
I am not interested only in sex. This lie conquered rating 3.56, as the second most common lie. It is certainly not as serious as the first, however, can easily lead to a major heartbreak.
Lie 3.
I have slept with only X number of people. It's a little impressive and surprising, that this lie is not first in the list, since we have been eye witnesses and perpetrators when it is said many times! In the range 5 that lie was 3.46. Not bad!
Lie 4.
You are the first person, with whom I live such an experience. At rating 3.23, this lie, usually works for a softer exchange and sharing of feelings, with someone, whom we know little and we have excited him. It works as building confidence between the two and certainly in relation to the other lies is the most harmless white lie.
