One of the lesser known, until recently, members of the family of Ω fatty acids

is gaining the interest of researchers,

as it seems to be the

    key to flawless silhouette.

The following short, bitter story looks very familiar to many of us: We  promise  ourselves to meticulously watch our diet.

We are determined to deprive ourselves from our favorite dishes, but also to gym regularly. But although, we remain faithful to our commitment for our goal, which is to win the ideal body proportions, something invisible... keeps the scale indicator, stuck to unwanted weight number.

And despite our persistent search, with the highest zeal to find out what's wrong, unfortunately we don’t manage to get the answer...

What can we responsible for it and how to overcome it?

    Gate 7

News (fortunately) are good. Scientists now have the answer to the question that concerns you.

In recent years, many experts have turned their attention to this very issue, claiming that, they are now just a step, before giving the desired happy end in the battle of being overweight. This is because they managed to find not only what obstacle is standing in our way to get to the goal, but also what are those substances which can greatly contribute to the problem.

What they did; Having exhausted the list of usual suspects, while testing existing, beneficial substances for the body, they did focus on previously ... underdog Ω-7. To find out, finally, that these indifferent substances belonging to the large family of omega fatty acids, if not more, at least they are as beneficial to the famous Ω-3 and omega-6. Especially the protagonist, palmitoleic acid, which is found in many foods, including the sea buckthorn, dairy and macadamia nuts and  in a lesser amount in fish, are playing a catalytic role in the elimination of accumulated fat.

But in order to understand its significance, its worth putting in our microscope adipocytes and see how they operate.

    Lack of communication

Until a few years ago, scientists thought that fat cells were nothing but fat stores with the unique mission to continuously provide space for mounting even more ... stock. Their function was considered independent of the body needs or our way of life, as those would act in their own regardless if  we did kilometres in the gym treadmill or spent half of our day on the couch.

Most researchers are aware that the mechanism is much more complicated than it first seemed. In fact in the fat cells surface, there are receptors that allow them to communicate with each other and with the muscles and vital organs. This creates a "concert" for the quantities to release and for those who need to stock respectively. Thereby they are ensuring the smooth functioning of our organs, by supplying us with the necessary energy, without loading us with excess fat.

All this, of course, happen when things go smoothly. The problem starts when the communication is disturbed for some reason.

When, that is, fat cells can not send or receive the right message. And so they remain inert doing what they know very well: creating space to store even larger amounts of fat.

Dr. Michael Smith, an expert researcher on wellness issues and author of bestselling books, notes that for this communication chaos, which costs both to our health and our silhouette the following  are responsible: chronic inflammation, hormonal imbalances due mainly to intense stress, toxins that invade the body through the consumption of processed foods, and exposure to environmental factors. All these make their presence stronger as we age, causing damage to the receptors on the surface of fat cells. And somewhere here come to take the place ...

The Intermediaries. Ω-7, that is, arriving to correct things by restoring communication.

What exactly do they do? ... They operate underground with a thousand and one ways, like multi purpose mechanics .

According to scientists from the School of Public Health at Harvard University, Ω-7, not only repair receptors, to start knockout inflammations, but also they give the message in fat cells to make the right job and to stop accumulating unnecessary fat. The experts came to this conclusion, after the following experiment: they placed in a test laboratory tablet, an amount of Ω-7 together with adipocytes, only to find that the adipocytes released immediately part of their merchandise, namely fat.

The element that makes these substances so special is that, unlike other fatty acids, these have the opportunity to "travel" through the body and directly influence its functions. The researchers were not limited to the above finding. further studies were followed, with increasingly impressive results. One of these, for example, showed that mice consuming Ω -7, showed increased production of hormones which are associated with the feeling of satiety. Put simply, they ate less than they did before, but satiate itself. But the most tangible proof of the benefits of Ω-7, emerged after an experiment by Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Researchers accord, daily, in a group of volunteers, 220 ml of purified palmitoleic acid in supplement form, while in another one, an inert mock preparation (placebo), while they instructed all to consume the same high calorie diet, and fat. In just one month the health indicators of the second group members had hit red. In contrast to those of the first they saw a remarkable improvement. In particular, the participants in this group lost weight (especially visceral fat), saw prices of triglycerides and bad cholesterol to decrease, while those of good cholesterol to rise. They also developed a greater sensitivity to insulin (resistance to the substance leads the body to produce more glucose with risk of type 2 diabetes).

Experts have concluded that eating foods high in Ω-7 and taking such supplements, where necessary, they may prove life-saving not only for our silhouette, but also for our overall health. The solution, then, can be found literally in ... our dish.

Of course, before taking any supplement, you should consult your physician.

What do I fill my plate with?

The secret to ideal proportions and good health is to follow a balanced diet enriching it with foods that contain Ω -7, including:

Sea buckthorn, macadamia, avocado, unsalted butter, olive oil, egg yolk, Shitake mushrooms, cheeses such us: Gouda, Blue Cheese,                 Parmesan cheese, Cheddar cheese.
